Vance was in Fairbanks on Monday trying to save Sen. Dan Sullivan, who is in a tight race against Democrat Mary Peltola. A New York Times/Siena poll last week had Peltola up 7 points, and another poll had the race tied. Vance was in the middle of talking up Alaska’s F-35 squadrons when a man in the crowd started yelling. Vance tried to talk over him, then stopped to address it. He told the crowd, “we of course had to have one person who wants to ruin the party.”
The man, a gray-haired guy in a blue Alaska hat, was escorted
out while he shouted, “Stay out of my couch!” That’s a reference to the viral couch meme that has followed Vance around since 2024. The vice president flew all the way to Alaska to rescue a senator who is trailing in the polls.
And the loudest moment of the entire rally was a stranger telling
him to keep away from the furniture. It’s not the first time this has happened. Last week in Florida, Vance called a different heckler a clown and a Democratic plant. Whoever you are, sir, we stand with you.
